Copyright policy

Effective October 8, 2026

We respect other people’s rights, and we respond to copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

Most of what appears on a Bounley page is hosted somewhere else. A YouTube video, a Twitch stream or a Spotify track on a page is embedded from that service. If the infringing material itself is on another service, send your notice to that service — it can take the material down everywhere, whereas we can only remove the link or the embed. Photos and header images are hosted by us.

Sending a copyright notice

Send a written notice to our copyright agent that includes all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name is enough.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  3. The address of the Bounley page (for example bounley.com/name), and a description of exactly what on it infringes, so we can find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for them.

If your content was removed

If we removed something of yours because of a copyright notice and you believe that was a mistake, or that the material was misidentified, you can send us a counter-notice at copyright@bounley.com that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. What was removed, and the page address where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Bounley may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material within 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.

Please be accurate

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for damages. If you aren’t sure whether something infringes, consider asking a lawyer first.

Trademark concerns aren’t handled under this policy — see Report a page.
