The formula behind every good bio
What you do + who it’s for + what they get + where to go next. “Personal trainer helping busy parents get strong in 30 minutes a day” tells a stranger in one line whether you’re for them. Everything else (emoji, location, a line of proof) is seasoning. The full method is in how to write a personal brand bio.
Bio character limits
| Where | Limit | What to put in it |
|---|---|---|
| 150 characters | What you do, who for, and a reason to tap your link. | |
| TikTok | 80 characters | What you do, in a few words. Nothing else fits. |
| X | 160 characters | What you do and what you post about. |
| LinkedIn headline | 220 characters | Your role, who you help and the result, separated by bars. |
| Your website | No limit | A short About paragraph in the first person, and a way to contact you. |

The one link every bio needs
A bio makes someone curious; the link is where they act on it. Point every bio at one place you own that holds every account, your best work and a way to reach you. Bounley, the platform built for personal brands, builds that site from one username in about two minutes, free at bounley.me/yourname, with your business card, QR code and email signature made from it. With Premium it moves to yourname.com, with contact@yourname.com.
Questions
Is this bio generator free?
Yes: no sign-up and no limit. Use the bios anywhere and change them as much as you like.
Does it use AI?
No. It fills proven bio patterns with your own words, so the bios sound like you, never invent anything about you, and nothing you type is sent to anyone.
Should my bio be the same everywhere?
Say the same thing everywhere, at different lengths. People who find you on TikTok and then look you up on LinkedIn should recognise you straight away; that consistency is most of what a personal brand is.
Should I use emoji in my bio?
One or two help a bio scan on Instagram and TikTok; on LinkedIn and your website, leave them out. Never let emoji replace the words that say what you do.
